Pasler Underglaze Marker
Black Underglaze Marker
🇺🇸 USA LINK
🇨🇦 CANADA LINKThis marker came with a few tips and the sharpest worked the best for what I needed. I did a test at cone 5 and it held up beautifully so I went ahead tried it for drawing the outlines on my more detailed mugs. My experience has been that the smoother the surface, the better the result. Burnishing the heck out of your piece will help prevent the ink from running inside any little grooves.

Vevor Slab Roller Hack
Vevor Cold Roll Laminator:
🇺🇸 USA LINK
🇨🇦 CANADA LINKThis machine works great as an affordable alternative to a clay slab roller. It’s adjustable so you can change the thickness of your slab, and I use 2 dowels to make sure the roll is even. A note that the handle is not as robust as a ceramic slab roller would be so you’ll need to start with a semi flattened piece of clay so that you can roll it through smoothly.

Materials to roll your slab in
Underlayment (flooring or roofing)
🇺🇸 USA LINK
🇨🇦 CANADA LINKTo roll your clay using a slab roller you’ll need something somewhat stiff to sandwich the clay between (canvas will not work with this hack). I prefer things with no texture that could transfer to my clay. Material I have tested and like is roofing (or flooring) underlayment which you can find at a hardware store. Craft foam could work as well but it’s not as good as the flooring underlayment.
